In 2019 Queensland Theatre will be offering teachers Professional Development opportunities which will develop skills and knowledge of various dramatic forms,
support the implementation of the new Senior Drama Syllabus, support the development of teachers unique artistry as teaching artists and provide experiences with our mainstage programme.
Teacher Professional Development days will be an immersive experience lead by one of Queensland Theatre’s leading teaching artists and will culminate in a preview performance of a Mainstage show in the 2019 season.
TERM 1: Realism with Andrea Moor (Saturday 9 February)
In this practical workshop created especially for teachers, Andrea Moor (Course co-ordinator QUT ACTING, QUT Creative Industries) will explore in detail actor training techniques designed to improve your students’ performance skills. As a working actor, director, teacher and voice over artist, Andrea works from a practitioners point of view and through practical and hands on exercises she will provide you with the tools to develop your students’ craft. Working with the classic text, Death of a Salesman, this one-day intensive will provide you with practical exercises to upskill your students in the style of realism, refine their acting skills and provide you will a detailed understanding of Miller’s classic text.
Your workshop intensive will conclude with a Preview performance of Queensland Theatre’s production of Death of a Salesman (directed by Jason Klarwein).
This workshop is a must for any teacher wishing to elevate their students’ performance outcomes

Greek Theatre; will include a preview performance of ANTIGONE (Saturday, 26 October)
