The best place for audiences:

Queensland Theatre will provide audiences with more than ‘just a performance’. Full house signs, buzzing foyers, unique events and experiences, world-class entertainment and passionate conversations will be synonymous with Queensland Theatre.

The best place for stories:

For the benefit of the Queensland community we plan to create the next Australian theatre classic. It takes time and committed investment to make this a reality. We have started on this path with Ladies in Black, but we want to bring audiences more iconic works, more often.

The best place for artists:

Queensland Theatre has a great history of launching the careers of artists including Bille Brown, Deb Mailman, Wesley Enoch and Carol Burns - but we are committed to providing more opportunities for artists. We want to be known as the national theatre of first breaks, fostering new talent and creating career pathways. Current initiatives include our Assistant Director Program and nurturing the next generation of young artists through the Youth Ensembles


How do we get there?

The Foundations for the Future campaign is integral to reaching our vision for 2020. With an ambitious fundraising target of $1.5 million, it is our largest campaign to date.
The campaign expands across all programs and encompasses our exciting new theatre, the Bille Brown Theatre.

Programs like the Youth Ensemble give young artists a chance to engage with their state theatre company. Young people grow in confidence and develop a true sense of self-belief after participating in theatre programs. Support our goal of developing more Education and Youth programs in our new facility by supporting this fund.





Some stories demand an intimate theatre. The Bille Brown Theatre will be the home for these new works to flourish. Initial support for the development and curation of these stories is vital. Help us discover the next sell-out show to grace our corner stage.





The Longest Minute will have its world-premiere in Cairns this year before travelling to Townsville and Rockhampton. As Queensland Theatre, we are the theatre company for the whole state. Support for this campaign helps to ensure all Queenslanders can engage with quality theatre and corresponding programs, regardless of their location.





Be part of providing Queensland Theatre with its first home theatre. A state of the art corner stage venue, ideal for presenting compelling and thought provoking stories. Help us take this great step by giving towards the Bille Brown Theatre campaign.





We are committed to bringing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stories to our stages. In 2017 we had over 35 employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists (My Name is Jimi and An Octoroon).
