FAQs
Companies must be based in Queensland. If you are applying as a collective, members must live and work primarily in the state of Queensland.
We understand that timing is tight for this season, and so additional producing support will be made available to these applications. This initial season will also favour applications that are either closer to ‘production-ready’ or collectives who can adapt to this tighter timeline. If you are considering applying for this slot and wish to speak about your application further, please contact Queensland Theatre Producers Pip Boyce or Ari Palani via door3@queenslandtheatre.com.au
We understand that theatrical work comes in all shapes and sizes – DOOR 3 is open to all! To ensure the safe and successful delivery of a production within this pilot year, we are predominantly seeking text-based work so that both your collective and Queensland Theatre can clearly scope the size and scale of what the script requires. There are, however, exceptions to every rule. Submissions with a demonstrated history of delivering devised, non-traditional or immersive work to a production timeline will be favoured.
DOOR 3 is designed for professional artists that have previously contributed to live performance activities with a ticket buying audience. The DOOR 3 opportunity is best suited to creatives who are familiar with delivering a professional product within budget, timeframe and to an appropriate scale.
All applications will be read, and EOIs will be shortlisted by a panel of Queensland Theatre and external industry representatives. Shortlisted applicants will meet with the panel to discuss their project in more detail. The successful Presenting Companies will be notified by Wednesday 7 February 2024.
