With your support, theatre opens doors

At Queensland Theatre we believe that theatre opens doors to worlds unknown, stories untold, and communities near and far.

For over 53 years Queensland Theatre has been opening doors for talented Queenslanders to inspire, entertain, challenge and delight.

Across our vast state are incredible places, First Nations cultures, and communities with stories to be told. Although barriers of distance, cost and isolation can keep us apart, theatre brings us together.

Your donation to Queensland Theatre before the end of the financial year will open doors to theatre for young people, artists and Queensland communities.

Queensland Theatre belongs to the people of Queensland. Our valued supporters are at the heart of all we do.

Your donation makes a difference:

  • This year, Queensland Theatre will perform to 60,000 audience members on mainstages and in Queensland communities, far and wide.
  • Donations affirm our shared commitment to Queensland stories, young people and the arts, regional engagement and creating great theatre.
  • Each year, Queensland Theatre hosts 5,500 young people in our theatres and in workshops as creators and theatre makers. Your donation may open the door for a young person to experience live theatre for the first time.
  • Over 50% of the 1,600 students participating in The Scene Project — our largest educational offering — live in regional and remote areas. Schools participating grew from 8 to 130 schools in the last 5 years, thanks to donations from individuals, philanthropists and donors. Your donation will help us meet growing demand.
  • Young people learn skills in storytelling and stagecraft that also foster resilience, empathy and courage — these are skills for life.
  • Your ongoing support and generosity sustain Queensland Theatre as a dynamic home for audiences and artists, our voices and stories.

All donations, $2 and over are tax-deductible. Gifts of $1,000 or more are recognised in our Visionaries giving circle, where you can join other passionate supporters making a significant impact.

Real impact

As an advocate for The Scene Project, Gracie Hosie knows how it opened doors for her and her friends.

"Living in a small town, theatre meant performing on a tiny stage with classmates, and family cheering me on. Being exposed to the level of professionalism with Queensland Theatre artists working alongside us has been a phenomenal way for me to grow and and learn.”
