Designed for young people in early high school who are curious about performance and live storytelling, this year-long program invites young people to discover more about making theatre with a community of like-minded people. Working with a different Teaching Artist each term on a new skillset, this program lets participants develop their performance tools in a playful and welcoming space, without the pressure of a performance outcome.
This ensemble of young theatre makers works towards two studio-style performance showcases. The program is designed for young people who would like to further their skills through detailed scene work, learn more about the development of new plays, and build a community of passionate and curious storytellers around them.
This program is designed for young people who intend to pursue the performing arts as a career - onstage or backstage. The group will work collaboratively with Teaching Artists and Mentors to create a production for audiences in the middle of the year, and to learn about the many varied roles in the theatre-making process.
Got an idea for a play in your Notes app but don't know what to do with it? This program is for you! Working across the year, you'll get the chance to write a full new work for the stage under the mentorship of expert playwrights and dramaturges. The program ends with a public playreading of excerpts from everyone's scripts, with exciting collaboration across our Young Artists Program.
The due date for applications for our 2025 Young Writers Ensemble has been extended, and will now close on Thursday 12 December, 5pm.
