Discover a world of play and creativity

Queensland Theatre's Montague Road foyer will transform into a creative play space for you and your little ones to play, explore and feel at home. With various areas designed for different types of play, and our café open for refreshments, we invite you to enjoy a relaxed morning with us each month as we celebrate creativity and community.

Each month, a different Queensland artist will create a bespoke activity for 0-5 year olds, all curated under the expert guidance of Fiona MacDonald, our Associate Artistic Director (Education and Young People), who has spent 20 years making theatre, experiences and activities with babies, toddlers, young children and their communities.

This program is completely free! No prior bookings are needed — simply arrive, and tokens will be provided upon arrival until we reach capacity. Each active play session with our guest artists lasts 30 minutes. If you miss a session, don’t worry — there’s only a 45 minute wait until the next one begins.

Keep an eye out on this page and our socials for the announcement of each artist and their program.

This free program runs from 9.15am on the first Thursday of each month (February — December).
