Masterclass: Behind The Sequinned Curtain
Queensland Theatre Company is proud to present our next Masterclass, Behind the Sequinned Curtain, a unique opportunity for secondary and tertiary students to come behind the scenes and witness what it takes to bring a state theatre company production to the stage.
Behind the Sequinned Curtain offers a rare opportunity to experience theatre from both sides of the stage. Across one immersive day, students will follow the full rhythm of a production, from matinee performance to evening preview, gaining firsthand insight into the precision, communication, and teamwork that keep a show running seamlessly.
Begin by watching The Sapphires from the audience. Then head backstage to listen in as the stage management team calls the evening performance live, revealing the cues, coordination, and split-second decisions that bring every moment to life. Led by industry professionals, this hands-on experience opens the door to the unseen world of theatre-making. Students will connect with artists, explore the venue and set, and gain a deeper understanding of the roles that make performance possible, from stage management and crew to lighting and sound.
