When dinner isn't the only thing brought to the table.

On a dreary Brisbane evening, Brett and Katelynn King arrive at Pitt and Sabina’s inner-city apartment for what should be a routine weekend dinner. The blokes have been mates since university, but the lives they’ve built now sit worlds apart.

The women, while staunchly oppositional, are drawn into each other’s orbit. Pitt and Sabina are chasing ideals – independence, democracy, and an equal way of life for all. Brett and Katelynn have settled into something more comfortable: parenthood, security, and a future that feels assured.

As 0% grape UDLs and hearty Bordeaux flow, conversation turns to politics, privilege, and lifestyle choices. Long-held beliefs begin circling the table, and beneath it all sits the shadow of a recent moment – something unresolved, something none of them can quite leave behind. As the night unfolds, civility cracks, loyalties are tested, blood is shed, and the storm arrives.

Darkly funny and razor-sharp, Lucky is a contemporary dinner table drama about ideology, conviction, and what happens when belief collides with friendship.
