Little Women can do anything. If only the world would let them.

Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy are sisters, rivals, and best friends — four young women growing up in the shadow of the American Civil War who refuse to conform to the expectations of their era. Jo wants to be a writer. Meg wants to fall in love. Amy wants everything. And Beth just wants everyone to be happy.

Adapted for the stage by a team of Queensland’s finest femme creatives including Director Bridget Boyle (Pride and Prejudice), award-winning playwrights Maxine Mellor and Kathryn Marquet, and an all-Queensland cast featuring Courtney Cavallaro (A Few Good Men) as Jo – this is Little Women redefined for a generation who know what it’s like to grow-up and stand-up in a dramatically changing world.

In the tradition of runaway hits Pride & Prejudice and The Great Gatsby, this is Louisa May Alcott’s literary treasure with its sleeves rolled up. Whip-smart, joyful, heartbreaking and iconic, Little Women is filled with a fabulous cast of females each with their own brand of main character energy long before women were allowed to have it.

Queensland Theatre Company invites devoted readers and first-time friends of this coveted classic to bravely march alongside the March sisters, with defiance, daring and determination. Because whether you're nine or 90, a woman's dreams should never come with a use-by date.
