Young Company 2027

In 2027, the Young Company continues its mission to develop the next generation of innovative performance makers. Open to young artists in Grades 10-12 across Southeast Queensland, the program puts the development of young theatre makers centre stage, learning their craft alongside a team of industry professionals inside of their State Theatre Company. While they hone their skills, they will also have exclusive access to the Creatives and Cast of Season 2027, insights and experience of rehearsal rooms, workshops, backstage – every part and process it takes to go from idea to Opening Night. Beginners… Stand by!

What is the Young Company?

The Young Company is a collective of South East Queensland's most outstanding young theatre and performance makers. This ensemble is made up of students in Years 10–12 who are ready to dive into the world of Queensland Theatre Company and explore all the facets of what makes a professional theatre-making process, working alongside industry professionals to become part of the processes that collaborate, design, devise, and deliver State Theatre Company productions while developing their own collaborative and creative skills in workshops and exploration of all of Queensland Theatre Company.

The Young Company includes:

• Young Performance Makers who train as part of an ensemble to develop their skills as performers, makers, collaborators, and cultural leaders.
• Opportunities to work alongside mentors at Queensland Theatre Company.
• Tickets to Queensland Theatre Company performances

The young people who make up the Young Company are those interested in pursuing careers in the performing arts, whether as performers, designers, producers, technicians, or any other facet of what we do. The Young Company is a collective of like-minded and ambitious young creatives who seek to expand their skills and contribute to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative environment. These young artists are the future of story-telling and the culture of our state, and so we care deeply about them. They are our future leaders, creators and audiences and we can’t wait for another year to work with them – and you. Young People. Full Volume. Turn it up!
