Race to the Page

Find your voice and take it to the page, in our next Masterclass – a bold, hands-on playwriting workshop with Patricia Cornelius, writer of Do Not Go Gentle. This session invites you to harness your emotion, whether it be rage, joy, or frustration, and transform it into powerful, performable work. Through guided exercises and practical tools, you'll explore character, structure, and dialogue, and begin crafting your own original scenes. No experience necessary, just a willingness to take risks, trust your instincts, and keep coming back to the page.

A unique Masterclass opportunity for secondary and tertiary students, who were invited behind the scenes to a performance of THE SAPPHIRES, to witness what it takes to bring a state theatre company production to the stage.

How To Make A Scene (Literally) with Matthew Whittet

Writer and performer Matthew Whittet gave Years 10–12 students a hands-on introduction to writing and performing their own work. In a high-energy session, students learned how to take their ideas off the page and onto the stage, guided by the writer behind Queensland Theatre Company's 2026 Young Company production, SCHOOL DANCE.

Torch the Page with Benjamin Law

QTC's first Masterclass for 2026 brought students and emerging writers together with acclaimed playwright, screenwriter and journalist Benjamin Law for an immersive writing session. Participants discovered how to craft compelling personal narratives, write authentically from real-life experience, and navigate writing across journalism, publishing and the media. The day also included a performance preview of QTC's production of TORCH THE PLACE.
