This role is voluntary, and working hours are flexible and completely up to the participant to determine. A rehearsal observation placement commonly includes attendance at:

  • rehearsals
  • production meetings
  • bump-in and production week
  • preview performances.

The role is strictly to observe the processes of a production and witness the working relationships between the creative team, the director, the cast and the Company. Rehearsal Observation placements are subject to availability and dependent on whether this role can be appropriately incorporated into the production’s rehearsal room. This opportunity is best suited to artists who have completed their formal training or have some equivalent arts experience. Artists still enrolled in tertiary study/training are encouraged to explore our secondment and internship opportunities.

Applications for 2023 Season placements will open in late October 2022. Following the season announcement, please send your expression of interest to jyoungs@queenslandtheatre.com.au including your CV with relevant experience, and an indication of which production/s you wish to observe and why. This opportunity will prioritise artists residing in Queensland.
