“I wish something would happen. That would change the whole world.”

It's 2007, Kevin Rudd has just been elected Prime Minister and the world feels ripe for change. On a leafy suburban street two unlikely neighbours meet. Catherine, a young woman stuck in suburbia desperate for her life to change, meets her elderly Hungarian neighbour Ana, who is carrying the weight of the past on her shoulders. An unlikely friendship forms.

Ana takes Catherine on a journey from modern Australia to war torn Hungary. Walking in Ana’s shoes, Catherine learns to see the world anew.

Neighbourhood Watch is a story about death, pets and most importantly, hope.
