Queensland Premier’s Drama Award Finalist Readings
Take your seat for the first public reading of the three Queensland Premier's Drama Award (QPDA) 2026 finalist plays.
Across the day, hear My Erotic Journey Through Italian Fascism by Alberto Di Troia, a darkly comic thriller across Australia and rural Italy; Cake by Michelle Law, a story of family and generational divide in Brisbane's Sunnybank; and Mrs Crocodilia by Melanie Tait, a feminist retelling of King Lear set in a Far North Queensland crocodile park.
The readings of the three finalist plays will take place before an esteemed panel of judges, who will select the winner of the 2026 QPDA. The winning playwright and play will be announced at Queensland Theatre Company’s 2027 Season Launch in early October.
