We only use our wings to touch the earth, not live there.

As the wishes and regrets of the Earth are relentlessly raised up to the heavens, a young goddess is challenged to take her first journey alone to live among the people of the world that have forgotten her kind. As she lives the entire lifespan of a young woman far from home, she struggles with the burdens of humanity. And so, to truly learn about the joys and heartaches of being mortal, she walks through the only world where humanity can be honest with themselves… in their dreams.

A famously enigmatic piece of fantasy theatre by August Strindberg, this new big-hearted vision by award winning playwright Steve Pirie, featuring Queensland Theatre’s Young Artists’ Ensemble, unfolds onstage as a story of grief, loneliness, and how beautifully hard it can be to exist as a good human.
